EI is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3), organization incorporated in Washington whose mission is to provide research and education to communities and agencies on waste management and resource conservation methods, highlighting flexible and adaptable management techniques, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.

The Econservation Institute provides quantitative analytical work to guide utility and program decision makers.  Our focus is 1) to identify program designs and strategies that increase the impacts and cost-effectiveness of energy conservation and waste diversion and prevention strategies, and 2) to disseminate the findings to program managers in a position to apply them.

The link between research and practical application of research findings is often missed.  EI seeks to bridge that gap.
